The insigniaswere handed over to the awardees at a get-together with international friendsof the HCYU which was held in Hanoi on March 19 evening to mark its 90th foundinganniversary (March 26).
First Secretaryof the HCYU Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan said the gathering aimed torecall the process of establishment and development as well as the glorioustradition of the HCYU.
The event wasalso to express gratitude to foreign organisations and individuals for theirsupport, assistance and cooperation with the HCYU over the past time.
The support andassistance from foreign organisations and individuals have helped the HCYU todeploy movements and programmes to better meet the needs and legitimatebenefits of young people and children of Vietnam.
UN Resident Coordinator inVietnam Kamal Malhotra congratulated the HCYU on its 90th founding anniversary.
He spoke highlyof the Vietnamese Government’s efforts in promoting the engagement of youngpeople and teenagers in building the Youth Law, policies and programmeframeworks related to young people over the past years.
Malhotra affirmedthat the United Nations will continue support youth-related affairs and assistpartners and young people’s organisations in order to increase the youth’sparticipation in building, implementing and supervising policies affecting theirlives./.
