HCM City willing to share experience with Vientiane People’s Council

The People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City is ready to share experience in specialised fields with the People’s Councils of Lao localities, including Vientiane capital, an official of the southern city of Vietnam said on August 22.
HCM City (VNA) – The People’s Council of Ho ChiMinh City is ready to share experience in specialised fields with the People’sCouncils of Lao localities, including Vientiane capital, an official of thesouthern city of Vietnam said on August 22.

Receiving officials of the Vientiane People’sCouncil, Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam saidthe Lao delegation’s visit is made amid the celebration of 40 years sinceVietnam and Laos signed a treaty of friendship and cooperation and 55 yearssince they set up diplomatic relations.

It is a chance for both sides to learn from eachother’s experience and discuss long-term cooperation orientations, therebyhelping to reinforce Vietnam-Laos traditional relations, she noted.

She congratulated Vientiane on itssocio-economic achievements in recent years which, she said, illustrate effortsby the capital city’s administration and people. 

Tam also voiced her belief that Vientiane willcontinue to develop strongly in the time ahead, with the effective contributionof the municipal People’s Council.

For her part, Vice Chairwoman of the VientianePeople’s Council Khamphong Phumvongxay said their trip aims to help promote thetwo countries’ relations and affirm that the Lao people always keep in mind theVietnamese people’s assistance to their country’s fight for nationalindependence.

She added as the Vientiane People’s Council wasjust established in 2016, her delegation wants to learn from experience of andbolster cooperation with the People’s Councils of HCM City and Hanoi.-VNA
