HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City pledges to spare no efforts to preserve, reinforce and develop the sound traditional friendship with Cambodia, a local official has said.

Vietnam’s southern economic hub will increase and diversify affiliation activities with Cambodian localities, especially in tourism, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong assured Cambodia’s Senior Minister and Chairman of the National Border Committee Var Kim Hong at a meeting in HCM City on October 20.

He expressed his confidence that with bilateral efforts and cooperation goodwill, the two countries will successfully build a shared borderline of peace, friendship and development.

Var Kim Hong informed the outcomes of the recent meeting of the two chairmen of the two countries’ joint committee on land border demarcation and marker planting.

He affirmed the friendship and solidarity between the two nations will lay a foundation for the settlement of issues in the field.

He said he was impressed by the dynamic development of HCM City with the preservation of traditional values.

He described HCM City as a popular destination for Cambodian tourists.

The effective operation of the Cho Ray – Phnom Penh hospital has become a symbol for the friendship and sound cooperation between HCM City and Cambodian localities, he added.-VNA
