HCM City (VNS/VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City will to ban all vehiclesbetween 5:30 pm and 9:30pm on Dong Khoi street on April 26, between 4:30am and10:30am on Le Duan street on April 28, and between 7pm and 9:30am on Nguyen HuePedestrian Street on April 30 in District 1.

According to the city’s Department of Transport, the ban is to ensure order andsafety during the upcoming events in celebration of Reunification Day (April30) and International Labour Day (May 1).

The municipal Department of Culture and Sports will organise an art performancetoday in front of the HCM City Opera House at the intersection of Dong Khoi andLe Loi streets.

The ban on Dong Khoi street will take place on the section extending from LeThanh Ton street to Le Loi street.

Vehicles going from Le Thanh Ton street to Ton Duc Thang street will bediverted to Ly Thu Trong, Hai Ba Trung and Dong Du streets or Mac Thi Buoi street.In the reverse direction, vehicles will take Nam Ky Khoi Nghia and Ham Nghistreets.

On April 28, a cross-country run will be held on Le Duan street on a sectionfrom Pasteur street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street.

Vehicles going from Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street to Le Duan street should takeAlexandre de Rhodes and Pham Ngoc Thach streets or Han Thuyen and Pasteurstreets. They can take Pham Ngoc Thach and Alexandre de Rhodes streets or Congxa Paris and Han Thuyen streets in the reverse direction.

To prevent traffic jams during firework shows on April 30, from 8:30pm to9:30pm vehicles will be banned on the following streets in districts 1 and4:  Nguyen Tat Thanh (Hoang Dieu to KhanhHoi Bridge), Ton Duc Thang (Me Linh Square to Khanh Hoi Bridge), Dong Khoi (NgoDuc Ke to Ton Duc Thang), Hai Trieu (Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue) and Ham Nghi (HoTung Mau to Ton Duc Thang).

Vehicles are not permitted to stop on Khanh Hoi, Mong, Calmette, Ong Lanh, ThuThiem, Nguyen Huu Canh, Binh Loi, Binh Trieu, Rach Chiec, Sai Gon and Phu My bridges,the flyover at Hang Xanh crossroads, bridges on Mai Chi Tho street and the roofof Thu Thiem tunnel. – VNS/VNA
