The HCM City Department of Health has established criteria for evaluating the risk of COVID-19 infections at medical facilities around the city.

- The HCM City Department of Health has establishedcriteria for evaluating the risk of COVID-19 infections at medical facilities aroundthe city.

It developed 34 criteria in ten different risk groups, including those relatingto the density of people visiting health facilities, screening people with riskfactors, using protective equipment, organising quarantine areas, cleaning and disinfectionwork, preparing necessary knowledge and skills for medical staff, organising workingtime in line with disease prevention regulations, managing information on peoplethat are infected or suspected of being infected, and conducting communicationswork to raise public awareness about disease prevention.

The infection risk index is divided into five levels: very-low risk, lowrisk, medium risk, high risk, and very-high risk.

Tang Chi Thuong, Vice Director of the Department, said the criteria willapply to all types of medical facilities in the city.

It is expected to be a useful tool that helps manage the risk posed by cross-infectionat health facilities.

The Department has ordered all hospitals and health facilities in the city to self-assesstheir risk level and introduce measures to minimise infections and ensure the healthand safety of both patients and medical staff./.
