HCM City (VNA) – Ho ChiMinh City hopes to cooperate with Thuringia state of Germany in vocational trainingand in improving the quality of tertiary education, Secretary of the city’sParty Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said in his reception on April 11 for thestate’s Minister-President Bodo Ramelow.
Nhan said the visit of theGerman state’s leader in the context of positive developments inVietnam-Germany ties will open up new opportunities for cooperation betweenlocalities of the two countries.
He went on to say that HCM City isalso eager to work with Thuringia in such areas as transport infrastructure, andAI solutions to solve problems in urban development.
Bodo Ramelow told his host thatthe participation of representatives from 70 firms, universities and researchinstitutes in Thuringia in his visit demonstrated their interest in cooperationwith Vietnam, including HCM City.
He noted that the two sides couldalso work together in high technology, water management, trade and SMEs.
According to the official, thereare 240 Vietnamese students in Thuringia, and the state hopes to receive morestudents from Vietnam.
The Minister-President of Thuringia is making an eight-day working visit to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from April 6, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.-VNA
