HCM City releases fish into rejuvenated canals

Ho Chi Minh City authorities have recently released 205,000 fish into two canals that have recently recovered from serious pollution.

Therelease of fish into Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe and Tau Hu-Ben Nghe canals isseen as part of activities to welcome World Environment Day (June 5).

These fish included carps, tilapia, catfish and anabas.

Speaking at the event, Hua Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Chairman of theHCM City People’s Committee, said that the release is aimed at there-generation of fisheries in the canals.

He also called on localresidents to take part in activities to re-create the fisheries andprotect the water sources and the environment of the city.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
