HCM City proposes new multilevel parking garages

The HCM City Department of Transport has asked the central government for permission to choose investors to build six multilevel parking garages under the Private-Public Partnership (PPP) mode.

HCMCity (VNA) - The HCM City Department of Transport has asked thecentral government for permission to choose investors to build six multilevelparking garages under the Private-Public Partnership (PPP) mode.

Afterthe department conducts research and discusses the project with the selectedinvestors, construction on the garages will begin next year.

Thegarages will be located at 23 Thang 9 Park in District 1; Ly Thuong Kiet apartmentbuilding in District 10; Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan district; Cho Lon coachstation in District 6; a coach station in District 8; and Tan Phu coach stationin that district.

Inthe short term, the department also plans to work with other agencies andinvestors to build “smart” parking lots of 10 to 20 spaces each in the downtownarea. These lots would help prevent illegal parking of cars along city streets.-VNA
