HCM City (VNA) – The Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Dinh La Thang, on June 27 hosted a reception for Rena Bitter, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City who came to bid farewell at the end of her tenure.

Thang congratulated Bitter on being appointed as the US Ambassador to Laos and spoke highly of her activities during her tenure in HCM City, including bringing many high-ranking US delegations and businessmen to the city.

He also took the occasion to thank the Consul General for her part in arranging for President Barrack Obama’s successful trip to the city last month.

Thang wished Bitter success in her new position and expressed his belief that she will continue contributing to the Vietnam-US relationship.-VNA
