HCM City, Nagasaki prefecture promote student exchange

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh Citywants to enhance the student exchange programme with the Japanese prefecture ofNagasaki, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem.

The official made the statement whilereceiving Takushima Toshio, President of the Industry and Trade Association ofNagasaki prefecture on May 10.

Lauding the initiative to organise the exchangeprogramme for students of the two localities, Liem thanked the association forsupporting students from HCM City in the 2016-2017 school year.

He also voiced his hope that the programmewill enable more students of HCM City to come to Nagasaki this year, thus promotingthe relationship between the two localities.

In 2018, HCM City wants to join hands with Japaneselocalities to arrange cultural activities on the occasion of the 40th foundinganniversary of diplomatic ties, Liem said.

He also asked for the association’s supportin student exchange and cooperation programmes to improve the quality of the city’shuman resources.

In reply, Takushima Toshio said he washappy to see that HCM City sent two delegations of teachers and students toNagasaki for exchange and study with Japanese students.

He stressed that Nagasaki hopes to receiveHCM City’s support for long-term student exchange programme between the twolocalities, with a view to deepening bilateral links in various fields such as economy,culture and trade in the future.-VNA
