HCM City (VNA) – Chairman ofthe Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong welcomed PolishPresident Adrej Duda on his visit to the city on November 30.
Phong held that Vietnamese people’s warm sentimentstowards Polish people are an important foundation for the two countries toforge stronger bilateral economic, trade, and cultural cooperation in thefuture.
He described President Duda’s visit toVietnam as an important milestone in the all-round partnership between Polandand Vietnam in general and between the country and Ho Chi Minh City inparticular.
As the biggest economic hub of Vietnam, thecity always welcomes Polish investors and is willing to foster economic, tradeand investment collaboration with Poland, he stated.
For his part, President Andrzej Duda said hewas impressed by HCM City’s dynamic development, stressing that Poland isinterested in the Vietnamese southern metropolis and has selected the city tolocate the first representative office of the Polish Investment and TradeAgency.
The leader expressed his hope that following his visit, Poland and Vietnam,including HCM City, will make greater efforts to enhance the two countries’ relationsacross fields.
The visit is also expected to help create more cooperation opportunities forVietnamese and Polish businesses, he added.
While in HCM City, the President and his spouse attended the Vietnam-PolandEconomic Forum and the inaugural ceremony of the representative office of thePolish Investment and Trade Agency, and visited several historical relic sitesin the city.
Later on the day, President Andrzej Duda left Ho Chi Minh City, successfullyconcluding his State visit to Vietnam from November 27-30.-VNA
