Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City wants to strengthen ties with Bulgaria, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the capital city of Sofia in June seen as laying an official framework for closer ties between the two localities.
Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan made the affirmation during his reception for Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Tzvetan Dimitrov in Ho Chi Minh City on November 27.
Noting that two-way trade between the city and Bulgaria is declining, the Chairman urged efforts of both sides to improve the situation.
Deputy Minister Dimitrov informed the host about the outcomes of the 23 rd meeting of the Inter-Government Committee between Bulgaria and Vietnam, and commented that economic and trade ties have yet to match their potentials.
