Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong has called on Slovak and Vietnamese businesses to step up their cooperation in chemical industry, electric equipment, food industry and tourism.

HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen ThanhPhong has called on Slovak and Vietnamese businesses to step up theircooperation in such areas as chemical industry, electric equipment, foodindustry and tourism. 

HCM City is willing to create the best possibleconditions for Slovak firms to run long-term business in the locality, theofficial told visiting Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of InteriorRobert Kaliňák on June 1. 

Phong said Robert Kaliňák’s visit contributes toenhancing the fruitful time-honoured cooperation between Slovakia and Vietnamand Ho Chi Minh City as well. 

He called on the Slovak Government to continue facilitatingthe Vietnamese’s integration into the Slovak society as well as their role ofbridging the two countries. 

Robert Kaliňák said he was impressed byachievements Vietnam has recorded over the past time, saying with a lot ofsimilarities, the two countries can support each other in national constructionand development. 

The long-standing cooperation and friendshipshould be demonstrated through specific, effective economic projects andprogrammes, he said. 

Slovakia stands ready to cooperate with Vietnam,including HCM City, in fields like machinery and tourism in order to turn thetwo sides’ potential into practical projects, thus contributing to tighteningthe bilateral ties.-VNA
