HCM City (VNA) - Ho Chi Minh City wants tolearn from Japan’s experience in administrative reform and developing an urbanadministration with effective interactions between residents and authorities, alocal official has said.
During a reception for Japanese Deputy Ministerof Internal Affairs and Communication Sasajima Takayuki in the city on June 7,Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed thatHCM City has identified stepping up administrative reform, creating favourableconditions for socio-economic development and improving people’s living standardsas three among key tasks in the city’s construction and development process.
HCM City aims to facilitate residents’participation in supervising and building a strong and effective local administrationwhile better serving its locals and enterprises, including Japanese investors,he added.
For his part, Takayuki said Japan will continueimplementing effectively agreements signed with the Vietnamese GovernmentInspectorate and localities regarding inspection, handling administrativeclaims, and administrative consultation.
Japan wants to strengthen cooperation with HCMCity in administrative reform, thus helping turn the biggest city of Vietnaminto an Asian economic hub, he said.-VNA
