HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City wishes the National Council of Front for theDevelopment of Cambodian Motherland (FDCM) facilitate cooperation in front workbetween Vietnam’s southern city and the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.

Ho Chi Minh City will specify outcomes of the freshly-concluded Front PresidiumConference of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi MinhCity Party Committee Vo Thi Dung told Acting General Secretary of the FDCM NationalCouncil Nhem Valy, during their meeting on June 26.

The Party, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City will work hard to realisethe Party and State’s policy to foster friendship and cooperation betweenVietnam and Cambodia, she affirmed.

Hailing the visit,Dung said that it is important as the two countries are celebrating the 50thanniversary of their diplomatic ties. She congratulated Cambodian people ongreat achievements they have made over the past years.

For his part, Nhem Valybriefed the host on the formation and development of the FDCM with the supportand assistance of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Nhem Valy noted thatthe two countries are working together in building statues commemorating theVietnam-Cambodia friendship, which symbolise the bilateral ties as well assacrifice of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers.

As neighbours, Vietnamand Cambodia should continue working together to foster their friendship andsolidarity while supporting each other for commondevelopment, he added.-VNA
