HCM City (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the Ho ChiMinh City People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen met with visiting senior officials ofthe Administrative Control Authority (ACA) of Egypt on November 9.
Tuyen applauded Egypt’s “Look East” policy,which aims to expand relations with Asian countries, including Vietnam.Vietnam-Egypt ties have been growing, especially since a visit to the SoutheastAsian nation by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi last September, openingup development prospects for both sides.
Egypt is currently the second biggest African trade partnerof Vietnam with bilateral trade reaching 316 million USD in 2016.
He also highly valued the memorandum ofunderstanding on cooperation for 2015-2020 signed between the VietnameseGovernment Inspectorate and the ACA. The two countries have many conditions andopportunities to share experience, enhance mutual understanding and boostcooperation between their ministries and sectors.

The official also expressed his hope that theEgyptian delegation’s working visit will help strengthen partnerships betweenthe two countries as well as between Egypt and HCM City in the fields that theAfrican nation is strong at.
For his part, ACA deputy minister of state HamedAbdel Fattah Hememy noted his delegation had fruitful working sessions withrelevant agencies of Vietnam, including the HCM City Inspectorate. Notably,they exchanged experience in corruption prevention and control.
Apart from administrative supervision, Egyptwants to tighten links with Vietnam and HCM City in many other spheres. Egyptvalues Vietnam’s experience in economic and tourism development and wants tolearn from it, he said.-VNA
