Co-organised by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, theprovincial steering committee for blood donation campaigns, and Kinh te& Do thi (economics & urban) newspaper, the event aims to help easeblood shortages for first aid and treatment during the upcoming Lunar New Yearholiday (Tet) – the longest and most important traditional festival in Vietnam.This year, the holiday will last from January 31 through February 4.
Via these campaigns, the steering committeeplans to mobilise the participation of 3,500 donors and collect 2,640 blood units. Assuch, it will ensure an adequate reserve for hospitals across the province and haveat least 100 donors ready to donate blood during Tet.
At the ceremony, the Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committeepresented certificates of merit to 12 organisations with outstandingperformances regarding blood donation campaigns last year.
In 2021, Hau Giang mobilised 14,320 blood units, exceeding itstarget by 19.33 percent./.
