Hanoi (VNA) -
Sterilisation work in Ha Loi village in Hanoi’s outlying district of Me Linh was completed on the morning of April 9, according to the Military High Command in the capital. 

A resident of the village was confirmed as infected with SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 on April 6, becoming the country’s 243rd patient. The source of his infection, however, remains unclear.

The Ministry of Health has issued an urgent notice to track all people who had close contact with the 47-year-old man.

His neighbour was confirmed as the country’s 250th patient on April 7, after testing positive for the virus.

The village started a 28-day quarantine period on April 8. It is home to 2,973 families with 10,872 people in total. 

The Hanoi Centre for Disease Control and the Chemistry Corps began disinfecting the area on the night of April 8. 

Vietnam had reported 251 COVID-19 cases as at the morning of April 9, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Of these, 156 entered Vietnam from overseas, accounting for 62 percent./.
