Hanoi (VNA) – The rate of poorhouseholds in Hanoi has drop to 0.42 percent in early 2020 from 3.64 percent in2016.
With this outcome, the capital has fulfilled itspoverty reduction goal two years ahead of schedule.
At present, Hanoi counts 8,754 poor households.
As of the end of 2019, the city arranged over8.5 trillion VND (366.6 billion USD) from its budget to implement povertyreduction programmes such as generating jobs, building new-style rural areas,and paying health insurance for poor and nearly-poor people.
From 2016 to 2019, the People’s Committees atthe grassroots level sourced investment from local budget, individuals and organisationsto support 7,165 needy households to build and upgrade houses./.
