Hanoi upgrades health care facilities

Construction on a nine-storey building in Hanoi’s Thanh Nhan Hospital began on June 12 as part of the second phase of a project to upgrade the hospital, one of the major health care facilities in the capital city.

The 458 billion VND building is expected to be completed by 2015.

Nguyen Khac Hien, Hanoi Health Department Director, said thehospital’s facilities have not met the needs of the city’s residents.

In phase two, the hospital will also be fitted out with modern equipment to improve examination and treatment services.

Earlier, the department in conjunction with Dan Phuong districtPeople’s Committee inaugurated the diagnostic imaging department inDan Phuong Hospital .

Costing almost 5billion VND and covering an area of 796 square metres, the department isequipped with modern machines for X-ray, ultrasound, CT and 3Dscanning, raising the quality of medical services for people in thelocality and neighbouring areas.-VNA
