Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the HanoiPeople’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has suggested New Zealand considercooperating with the capital in protecting the environment, developingtransport infrastructure, and studying measures to improve the quality oflocals’ lives.
During a meeting with New Zealand’s Ambassadorto Vietnam Wendy Matthews on March 7, Chairman Chung said municipal authoritiesare willing to create favourable conditions for stronger cooperation with NewZealand.
While briefing the guest on the capital’sdevelopment, he expressed hope that the ambassador will work to connect NewZealand’s investors with Hanoi, especially in hi-tech agriculture andeducation-training.
Matthews affirmed her country has strengthssuitable for Hanoi’s development goals, including human resources development andin managing food quality.
She said she looks forward to a direct air routebetween Hanoi and New Zealand to make bilateral cooperation easier, especiallyin tourism and education.-VNA
