Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi hasbasically finished preparations for the second DPRK-USA Summit and stands ready for the event which is slated for February 27 and 28.
The information was released at ameeting between the People’s Committee of Hanoi and departments, agencies andlocalities engaging in the preparation work on February 24.
At the meeting, Chairman of themunicipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that each resident of thecity should become an ambassador to promote the images of a friendly and hospitableHanoi – the City for Peace.
The summit is a chance for Hanoito deliver a message that Vietnam is developing and integrating and is an idealdestination for international visitors, he said.
Chung asked relevant agencies to reviewtheir part in preparations to ensure the best conditions for the summit.
The city leader underscored thecomprehensive measures to ensure security for the event with the target ofprotecting the utmost safety for the summit.
Hanoi will give more space for mediaagencies to air stories related to the event, he added.
Earlier the same day, Chung andDeputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam visited the International MediaCentre to inspect final preparations.-VNA
