Hanoi Police gifted hybrid cars to fight crime and pollution

The Japanese Government presented 44 hybrid cars to the Hanoi Police Department at a ceremony held in Hanoi on March 21.

Speaking at the handover, Hanoi Police Director, Major General NguyenDuc Chung, expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support of his force asthey look to complete their tasks and reduce environmental pollution inthe capital.

Over 500 million JPY (4.2 million USD) in JapaneseGovernment aid has been provided to Hanoi Police since 2014, coveringthe purchase of 98 new generation Toyota and Mitsubishi hybrid,plugin-hybrid, electric and clean diesel cars.

An additional 42 cars will be presented to the Hanoi Police Department in 2015.

The police are coordinating with the Japan International CooperationSystem (JICS) to utilise the aid in a timely and efficient manner.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
