Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi and Moscow areexpected to promote cooperation and experience sharing in numerous fields,especially corruption prevention.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’sCommittee Nguyen Van Suu and Alexander Anikin, Deputy Head of theAnti-Corruption Department under the Russian President, both expressed the desirefor collaboration during their meeting in Vietnam’s capital city on February19.
Suu highlighted the sound traditional relationsbetween Vietnam and Russia, which are illustrated in various aspects. The twocountries are looking forward to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of theirbilateral diplomatic ties in 2020, he said.
While informing the guest about Hanoi’ssocio-economic development, Suu said the city is in the process ofurbanisation, improving its transport infrastructure and managementcapacity.
Hanoi is especially focused on efforts in anti-corruptionand respect for the law, he said, adding that nearly 400 corruption inspectioncases are conducted in the city every year.
For his part, Anikin said Russia is willing tosupport Hanoi in this field.
He believed that the sound long-standingrelations between Vietnam and Russia will create a premise for Hanoi and Moscowto enhance cooperation in preventing and combating corruption. –VNA
