Hanoi (VNA) – The Philippines Airlines (PAL) direct route linkingHanoi and Manila, scheduled to be launched on April 1, will help enhance tiesbetween Vietnam and the Philippines.
The statement wasmade by Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Duc Chung and VicePresident for Sales of PAL Ryan T Uy at a meeting in the Vietnamese capitalcity on January 30.
Chung said that thelaunch of the route will boost bilateral trade, tourism and cultural exchangeand help Hanoi develop its tourism and trade.
Briefing the gueston the city’s situation, he said hosting Formula One (F1) racing from 2020 willbe a chance to attract more tourists from the Philippines.
The Hanoi leaderalso affirmed that the city will work with agencies and representatives of thePhilippines Airlines to facilitate the carrier’s operation in the capital.
Ryan T Uy said thatPAL is expanding its operation scale with a 98-aircraft fleet, which is achance to promote the image of Hanoi to other places around the world.-VNA
