Hanoi Lung Hospital suspends patient admission after nine COVID-19 cases found in hospital

The Hanoi Lung Hospital suspended admitting patients on late night July 25 after nine people in the hospital, seven patients and two medical workers, were confirmed to be positive for coronavirus, according to Director Pham Huu Thuong.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi Lung Hospital suspended admittingpatients on late night July 25 after nine people in the hospital, sevenpatients and two medical workers, were confirmed to be positive for coronavirus,according to Director Pham Huu Thuong.

The hospital conducted screening tests after a24-year-old woman, who had been under treatment at the hospital from July 6 –22, tested positive with SARS-CoV-2 at another hospital on July 24. She wasdischarged from the Lung Hospital on June 22 in good conditions.

The screening testing found 14 positive cases, with nineconfirmed as of 6pm July 25, prompting the temporary closure of the hospital. Theremaining cases are waiting for confirmation from Hanoi CDC.

The source of infection of all the cases remains unknown,Thuong said, adding that contact tracing has been promptly conducted.

It has so far collected 323 samples for COVID-19 testing,including 214 from the in-patients. About 400 samples are expected to becollected./.
