Hanoi (VNA) – The capital city of Hanoi wants to strengthencooperation with Austria in public transport, healthcare, and the environment, ViceChairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son said at a meeting with Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Hans-Peter Glanzer on April 7.

Although bilateral relations have been continuously strengthened, the two countries have not yet fully exploited the potential of cooperation, he said, adding that there are nine investment projects of Austria in Hanoi with total registered capital of about 3.7 millionUSD.

Forhis part, the Ambassador said Austria seeks close cooperation with Vietnam ingeneral and Hanoi in particular, in areas that are the country’s strengths suchas urban transport solutions, medical equipment and treatment of wastewater and garbage.

TheAustrian Embassy plans to hold cultural and economic exchanges this year on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversaryof bilateral diplomatic relations, he said.

Vice chairman Son affirmedthat Hanoi is ready to coordinate with the embassy in organising these activities./.
