The switchboard,which operates 24/7, is designed to promptly provide information on Hanoi’stourism for visitors. It also handles feedback on travel agencies and tourismactivities to improve the quality of the services, ensuring tourists’ safetyand rights.
Since 2013,the hotline of the city’s tourism sector has handled inquiries and providedinformation for more than 20,000 domestic and foreign visitors.
Thehotline also helped to prevent overcharging and regain stolen property fortourists, maintaining the Hanoi’s images as a friendly city.
Directorof the department Tran Duc Hai noted that as Hanoi has recorded increasingnumber of visitors, the switchboard is necessary towards sustainable tourismdevelopment of the city.
As of theend of September 2018, Hanoi welcomed nearly 20 million tourists, including4.45 million foreigners.
Most ofthe foreign holidaymakers to the city come from Asia countries, particularlythe Republic of Korea and Japan, as well as those in Europe such as the UK,France, Germany and Norway, among others.-VNA
