Hanoi honours outstanding citizens

Ten outstanding citizens and 1,002 individuals in the movement of “Good people, good deeds” of Hanoi were honoured at a ceremony on Oct. 8 as part of activities to mark the 58 th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (Oct. 10).

This is the third timethe capital awarded the title of outstanding citizens to honourindividuals who have made significant contributions to the city’sconstruction and development.

Among the list areSenior Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Doan from the Hanoi Traffic PoliceDepartment, Professor Doctor Nguyen Tai Thu, Chairman of the VietnamAcupuncture Association and Nguyen Thi Hien, a worker from Hanoi Sewageand Drainage Company.

Dinh The Huynh, Politburomember, head of the Commission for Popularisation and Education of theCommunist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee asked Hanoi to focus thepatriotic emulation campaigns on fulfilling specific tasks of eachsector and each locality, contributing to building Hanoi into a modernand developed city.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
