Hanoi (VNA) – Over 1,000 people came together at the walking andpainting events held on the pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem (ReturnedSword) Lake, Hanoi on March 17 in response to the Earth Hour 2018.
According to Trinh Quoc Vu, Director of the Department of Science, Technologyand Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the events aimto deliver the message: Let’s protect the environment and use energyeffectively towards the sustainable development of the country.
Earth Hour is the largest social event in the world, which has been observed in7,000 cities of 172 countries and territories.
Responding to the event in 2018, which is themed “Go More Green”, Hanoi, DaNang city, Ho Chi Minh City and other 60 cities and provinces across thecountry will turn off the lights from 20:30-21:30 on March 24.
The event is held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with support from theElectricity of Vietnam (EVN), Hanoi Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Joint StockCompany and Daikin Air Conditioning Vietnam Joint Stock Company.-VNA
