The two sides agreed on specificactivities to enhance ties between Hanoi and Nay Pyi Taw, with a focus on promotingtrade, investment and tourism. The two cities will also increase the exchangeof delegations to boost mutual understanding and trust.
In Indonesia, the Hanoi delegation had a working session with Jakarta’sVice Governor Sahat Perulian, during which Hanoi proposed expanding bilateralcooperation in urban management and development, and cultural heritageconservation, besides economic and tourism ties.
Vice Governor Sahat Perulian noted his wish that the two cities willsign an agreement on exchanging urban planning experts in 2017 as early aspossible.
In Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri MHD. Amin Nordin ABD. Azizreceived the Hanoi delegation on December 13.
The Hanoi Party official stressed the Vietnamese capital city’s policy ofdeveloping friendly and cooperative ties with other capital cities and citiesin ASEAN, especially after the establishment of the ASEAN Community.
The Mayor of Kuala Lumpur responded that he hopes to increasecooperation with Hanoi, which boasts high-quality farm produce and traditionalhandicrafts.
On the occasion, the two sides agreed to assign their agencies to researchand make recommendations on activities to promote trade, investment and tourismin Hanoi next year.
The outcomes of the trip are expected to lay the foundation forpractical and effective partnerships between Hanoi and the capital cities ofMyanmar, Indonesia and Myanmar in the time ahead.-VNA
