Hanoi (VNA) – The number of new dengue fever cases in Hanoi hasdropped in the last few weeks, according to the city’s Department of Healthon September 25.
Hanoirecorded 1,604 dengue fever cases from September 18 to 24, a decrease of 352compared to the previous week and down 1,965 compared to the peak in August.
Sincethe start of the year, the city has recorded 30,344 dengue cases, with sevendeaths. About 4,060 outbreaks have been under control and 384 remain.

Meanwhile,there were 116 cases of hand-foot-mouth reported during the week, raising thenumber to 327, down 76 percent year-on-year.
Thecity also recorded two new cases of people infected with streptococcus suisbacteria that affected pigs in Quoc Oai and Hoang Mai districts, adding up to14 cases since 2017, with three fatalities.-VNA
