Handicrafts of Tohoku to be displayed in Vietnam

Japan’s exhibition featuring beautiful handicrafts and traditional techniques of Tohoku craftsmen will take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from late this month.
Japan’s exhibition featuring beautiful handicrafts and traditionaltechniques of Tohoku craftsmen will take place in Ho Chi Minh City andHanoi from late this month.

The event is to remember theearthquake tsunami in Tohoku on March 11, 2011. The Tohoku region, knownfor its beautiful landscapes and rich culture, was damaged by anunprecedented natural disaster.

On the display are ceramic,lacquer, weaving, metal, wooden and bamboo works by member artisans ofthe Mingei (art of the people) movement in Japan.

The exhibition is scheduled to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from October 31 to November 10 and in Hanoi from December 12-22.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
