Hai Phong maintains second place in administrative reform

Hai Phong (VNA) – The northern port city of Hai Phong has retainedits second spotamong 63 cities and provinces nationwide in the administrative reform index forthe fourth consecutive year, scoring 87.24 percent.

Chairman ofthe municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung said authorities focused onstrengthening discipline in State budget collection and spending and improvingthe business climate in 2016-2017.

They alsohold monthly dialogues with businesses which are widely publicised. In 2016,the province moved up five spots in the nationwide competitiveness index.

Since 2016,agencies and localities have been assigned to oversee the progress of taskfulfillment by heads of municipal departments and the district People’sCommittees online, thus reducing delays.

Director ofthe municipal Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Dao Son said 47 administrativeprocedures have been cut since 2009 while technological advances have beenadopted in managing and improving the quality of administrative services suchas electronic tax filing, customs and insurance. All second level or higher administrativeprocedures can now be handled online.

Theprovince has also cut time for business registration licensing to three workingdays and standardised data on local businesses in thenational database on business registration.-VNA
