At aworking session with the provincial leaders on June 11, Deputy Ministerof Public Security Lieutenant General To Lam hailed the locality’stimely response to the recent incident.
Heinstructed Ha Tinh public security force to increase patrols in keyareas and set up more watch points across the locality to ensure localsecurity, especially in Vung Ang industrial park.
The deputy minister also required the police to coordinate withinvestors and contractors in the locality in working out andimplementing joint plans on security maintenance.
According to Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the provincial PartyCommittee, on May 14, as workers in Vung Ang industrial park held arally against China’s illegal placement of its oil rig in Vietnam’s waters, a number of bad elements incited the crowd, causing socialdisorder.
Right after getting the information, localauthorities shown up timely to ensure safety for staff of the companiesand their property, he said.
The provincial publicsecurity also investigated and seized dozens of rioters and found alarge amount of property to return to the affect firms, Binh stated.
Currently, all 407 domestic enterprises and 40 foreign firms with atotal of 19,000 employees in the park have resumed their normaloperation, he added.-VNA
