The group’s General Manager Vietnam Knuth Kiefer told reporters onMay 25 that the tournaments proceeds, which 170 golfers have registeredfor, will be donated to Heartbeat Vietnam, to pay for heartoperations on poor children and to provide financial assistance fortheir families.
The funding will also be spent purchasing the equipment necessary forconducting heart operations and treatments, he added.
Another sponsor is Porsche Vietnam, which will donate a PorscheCayman, a two seated sports car, worth over 3 billion VND (roughly159,000 USD) as the prize for the winner of the hole-in-one contest, whowill also receive a villa valued at 350,000 USD from the ArchiInvestment Joint-stock Company.
“We are doing our bit to support some of the poor Vietnamese childrenwith heart disease so they can look forward to a better and longerlife,” said Porsche Vietnam General Manager Andreas Klingler.
This year’s tournament has attracted both male and female golfers,who will play in three groups, two for the men and one for the women, infour secondary competition, including the nearest-to-the-pin; thelongest drive; beat the Pro and the hole-in-one.
Rad Kivettee from Heartbeat Vietnam pledged to use all the moneyraised on child heart patients in Vietnam.
He added that his organisation has raised millions of US dollarssince 2005 to provide healthcare in Vietnam, benefiting 1,500children with congenital heart disease and providing financialassistance to their families for post-operation care as well asscholarships for young girls from ethnic minority groups./.
