Georgian Foreign Affairs officials visit Vietnam

A delegation from the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Deputy Minister D.Jalagania, is in Vietnam from March 6-9 on a working visit.

The delegation attended a politicalconsultation at the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has beenworking with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the VietnamChamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

During themeetings, the officials from Georgia and their Vietnamesecounterparts briefed each other on their countries’ current situationand discussed issues of common concern.

The sidesfocused their discussions on how to foster cooperation ineconomics-commerce and education-training; stepping up cooperationagreements in customs procedures and avoiding double taxation;exchanging ideas on international and regional issues, and boostingcooperation between the two ministries of foreign affairs.

Jalagania affirmed that developing relations with Vietnam isimportant to Georgia, and expressed his hope to strengthen andenhance the traditional friendship between the two countries.-VNA
