Hanoi (VNA) – Fruit and vegetable exports earned an estimated 1 billion USD in thefirst four months of 2017, up 32.6 percent from the same period last year.
Accordingto the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the top four importers ofVietnamese goods, who accounted for 82.9 percent of the value, were China, theUS, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Russiarecorded an 88.7 percent increase in imports of Vietnamese fruits andvegetables compared to last year, followed by Japan (50.9 percent), Thailand(34 percent) and China (33.3 percent).
In thedomestic market, from the beginning of April, prices of several Mekong Delta fruits,such as fresh coconuts and rambutans, increased due to supply shortages.
Prices of pineapplesin Tien Giang levelled off after a plunge, while prices of vegetables in LamDong are likely to decline because of abundant supply.-VNA
