The event was hosted by the French national agency for thepromotion of higher education, international student services, andinternational mobility, known as Campus France.
Vietnam islaunching education cooperation at both government and school-levels. Ithas agreed major projects with the German, French, British and Japanesegovernments, noted Campus France General Director Antoine Grassin inhis opening remarks.
Jacque Frere, Attaché of Science andUniversities from the French Embassy in Vietnam, cited theinternational-standard University of Science and Technology of Hanoi(USTH), a key partnership between Vietnam and France, as a successstory.
He said hundreds of French professors, researchers and lecturers have assisted USTH in teaching and science studies.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Training’s InternationalCooperation Department, Nguyen Thanh Huyen, said France has the largestnumber of partnership programmes with Vietnam in university education.
According to the Campus France, over 6,300 Vietnamese studentsenrolled in French universities in 2012-2013. Vietnam is now among thetop 10 countries with the highest number of students in France. From theAsian region, only China sends more.
Meanwhile, France is the third most common destination chosen by Vietnamese students, after the US and Australia.-VNA
