A delegation from the French Communist Party (PCF) visited the northern province of Bac Ninh on October 28 to study the role of the province’s Party organisation in directing local socio-economic development.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien briefed the delegation on how the Party Committee guides the socio-economic development through issuing resolutions for its tenure.
He said the locality has utilised its cultural and geographical advantages and enacted a number of investment attraction policies to develop industry.
Bac Ninh is now home to 28 industrial clusters, including nine operational industrial parks, drawing over 11.3 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI).
Many global economic giants such as Pepsico, Samsung, Canon, ABB, and Microsoft are running investment in the province, he said.
Bac Ninh is also a cradle of culture with hundreds of traditional craft villages and historical-cultural relic sites, he said, pointing to “Quan Ho” (traditional love duet singing) that has been recognised by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
On behalf of the French delegation, PCF National Secretary Pierre Laurent lauded the leadership of the provincial Party Committee in developing social and economic affairs.
The same day, the PCF delegation visited the Microsoft factory at the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Tu Son town.-VNA
