Themed “Love and Share,” the event aims to encourage theorganisastion of activities for young people.
The highlight of the week will be a French Festive Dayscheduled for March 19 in Thao Cam Vien Park, where youngsters are provided achance to have better understanding of the French language.
Participants will also enjoy performances by famous Canadiansinger Athesia and eight films from Canada, France and Switzerland at a Frenchfilm festival. In addition, many seminars, exhibitions and exchanges will beorganised throughout the event.
According to Othmar Hardegger, Swiss Consul General to Ho ChiMinh City and representative of the Francophone community in the city, theFrancophone Week is an opportunity for those who love the languageand culture of France to meet and exchange, while honouring the cultural values,richness and diversity of the Francophone community in Ho Chi Minh City.
March 20 has been chosen as the International FrancophoneDay since 1970, offering French-speaking people a chance to show their love forthe language as well as their solidarity and wish to live together in differenceand diversity.-VNA
