France’s national day marked in HCM City

The Vietnam-France Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City on July 14 held a ceremony to mark the 225th National Day of France, which falls on the same day.

Addressing the ceremony, the Association’sChairman Le Quoc Hung highlighted the growing friendship andmulti-faceted cooperation between the two countries, with an array ofactivities marking the 40 th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomaticties held in 2013 and 2014.

HCM City has set up fruitful affiliation socially and economically with France’s Rhone Alpes region and Lyon city.

The city has seen a range of projects and programmes on trade, health,education, agriculture, HIV/AIDS fight, and the environment, run byFrench investors and non-governmental organisations.

Accordingto Fabrice Mauries, French Consul General in HCM City, three-fourths ofFrench investors in Vietnam chose to run business and open theirrepresentative offices in HCM City.

The diplomat noted thatVietnam has made rapid changes and recorded robust growth in manyfields, which was partly contributed by France.

He affirmedthat activities held in the framework of the 2013 France Year in Vietnamhelped tighten relations between the two countries as well as introduceFrench cultural identities to the public.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
