Hanoi (VNA) - Four trainswhich will be used for Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railway have been delivered toHanoi.
InNovember, eight more trains are planned to be transported from China to Vietnam.
Vu Hong Phuong, vicedirector of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated train project, said it had not yetbeen decided when the trains would be transported by crane on the elevatedrailways track.
To avoid trafficcongestion, the trains were transported to Hanoi at night.
On February 19, the firsttwo locomotives and passenger trains of this project were delivered.

According to Phuong, therailway project has 12 trains, including 48 carriages. Each train with fourcarriages can carry 1,200 passengers.
The Cat Linh-Ha Dongelevated railway project with 12 stations has investment of 868 million USD. Asplanned, until October 2017, the pilot run will be implemented. The trains willbegin officially operations in the second quarter of 2018.
However, many items of theproject are being delayed due to capital injection.
On September 28, theChinese contractor ran a locomotive from Cat Linh station to Lang stationto check the railway line.-VNA
