Hanoi(VNA) – The Vietnam Development Forum (VDF) 2017 with the theme of “Increasingproductivity – A lever for sustainable development” will take place in Hanoi onDecember 13, announced the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Minister of Planningand Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and World BankCountry Director for Vietnam will co-chair the forum, which will focuson analysing the real situation and obstacles to increasing productivity inVietnam.
Increasing productivityis seen as one of the long-term measures for Vietnam to foster its economicdevelopment, overcome the middle-income trap and catch up with developedcountries.
The forum is expected toraise public awareness of the role and importance of increasing productivity inpromoting and maintaining rapid and sustainable development, making it easy forpolicymakers to build productivity policies for Vietnam.
The two-session forum willdiscuss issues related to increasing productivity, basic issues of theproductivity growth in the world and the reality in Vietnam, thus proposingspecific measures to foster the process on the basis of domestic andinternational experience.
International expertswill also introduce solutions to increasing productivity in important sectorsand fields in Vietnam.-VNA
