HCM City (VNA) – Human resources governance is a strategic factor for sustainable corporatedevelopment, heard the Vietnam Business Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City onDecember 12.

Speaking at the event,President of the Vietnam Business Coalitionfor Women's Empowerment(VBCWE) Ha Thu Thanh, who is also Chairwoman of the Board of Directors ofDeloitte Vietnam, said promoting gender equality at workplaces will bothstrengthen internal capacity and bring sustainable values to businesses.

She urged them to devisespecific strategies and action plans as well as apply technological advances toimprove fairness and transparency in recruitment and training.

Australian Ambassador toVietnam Craig Chittick said the Australian government always strives to partnerwith leading Vietnamese enterprises, adding that firms need to take appropriatemeasures to improve their business efficiency and achieve growth targets.

Experts said amid the fourthindustrial revolution, businesses could offset social welfare costs bydominating the market and gaining consumers’ popularity when it comes tobuilding trademarks.

On the occasion, the organising board presented theEDGE Certification and the Global Business Certification Standard for Gender Equality,to Vietnamese companies, including the Southern Airports Services Jsc, the HoChi Minh City Power Corporation and the Maritime Bank.
