The annual forum under the CIEM –GIZ Macroeconomic Reform Programme is held to look into Vietnam ’spressing economic issues.
Participants mulled overthe country’s economic situation and put forth their opinions onrestructuring State-run businesses, Government spending and financialsystems.
They also debated various measures forpolicy makers, managing agencies and businesses to accelerate economicand business reforms.
CIEM Acting Director NguyenDinh Cung said that concrete measures to restructure the country’seconomy and change its growth model have been outlined in a masterproject. However, much remains to be done to finalise the work.
Meanwhile, Chief Technical Advisor of the GIZ’s programme MichaelKrahowski stressed that the programme aims to consolidatemarket-oriented institutions in Vietnam and works towards asustainable growth of its economy.
The outcomes ofthe forum will be good indicator of the country’s economic reforms intandem with sustainable growth, he added.-VNA
