The Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security has issued decisions on prosecuting and detaining Do Van Khanh, former Director General of the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).

Hanoi (VNA) – The Investigation Police Agency underthe Ministry of Public Security has issued decisions on prosecuting anddetaining Do Van Khanh, former Director General of the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).

In anannouncement on December 18, the ministry said during investigations, the investigationpolice agency concluded that during 2012-2014, Do Van Khanh had abused hisposition as PVEP Director General to receive extra interest rate payment fromOceanBank and appropriate assets.

The agencylaunched criminal proceedings of the case on September 13, 2017.

On December 17,2018, the agency issued decisions on prosecuting and detaining Do VanKhanh on the charge of abusing position and power to appropriate assets underArticle 355 of the 2015 Penal Code. The decisions were approved the same day bythe Supreme People’s Procuracy.

The investigation police agency is expanding investigationinto the case.-VNA
