Hanoi (VNA) – Forestry exports were estimatedto exceed 7.93 billion USD in the first 9 months of 2019, up 18.1 percentyear-on-year, with a trade surplus of 6.06 billion USD.
Vietnamese timber and forestry products were shipped to morethan 128 countries and territories, of which the US, Japan, China, the EU andthe Republic of Korea were key markets. During the reviewed period, forestryshipments to these major importers earned 6.93 billion USD, or 87.4 percent ofthe total export value.
In September alone, Vietnam exported 890.8 million USD worthof the products, an annual increase of 22 percent from the same period lastyear.
According to the Vietnam Administration of Forestry,production between January and September had remained stable, with valuehitting 31.66 trillion VND (1.36 billion USD), 4 percent higher than the sameperiod last year.
Meanwhile, the amount of exploited timber and other forestryproducts was estimated at 11.4 million cubic metres, up 4.5 percent on-year.
Currently, northern provinces are accelerating theirend-of-season forest planting, while their southern peers are kicking off theirmain season of the year./.
