Foreign news services boosted

A conference on foreign news services opened in Hanoi on Nov. 29.
A conference focusing on foreign news services and the dissemination ofinformation on sea, island and border demarcation opened in Hanoi onNov. 29.

Officials from ministries, sectors, central agencies and northern localities participated.

DeputyDirector of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisationand Training Bui The Duc said the conference was aimed at improving thequality of information for foreign audiences and overseas Vietnamese,focusing on foreign policy and national defence, religion and works tofight conspiracies and activities by hostile forces against Vietnam .

Participantsdiscussed the major contents of the Declaration of the Conduct ofParties in the East Sea (DOC), measures to solve disagreements in theEast Sea and implementation of tasks to protect maritime sovereigntyand security, as well as dissemination of information on sea and islandissues.

They also exchanged experiences and initiatives in thefield and discussed issues relating to Vietnam ’s land borders, bordersecurity and investment flow between Vietnam and countries withcommon borders in the process of demarcation and border markerplacement.

The conference will run until Nov. 30./.
