Quang Ninh fosters tourism cooperation with Chinese locality
Quang Ninh, September 25 (VNA) – A conference to boost connection among tourism destinations of Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Ha Long city on September 25.
During the event, Quang Ninh’s Ha Long and Mong Cai cities and Guangxi’s Dongxing and Guilin signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) on tourism development.
Accordingly, the localities agreed on general cooperation principles, mechanism to expand tourism journeys, and commitment on service quality, among others.
Representatives from the localities briefed their potential and advantages. Ha Long boasted its potential for sea and island tourism development, with the highlight of the UNESCO-recognised World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay. Mong Cai city introduced its cultural, sea-island, and border tourism development.
The two Chinese provinces also introduced their potential for cultural, resort, border tourism development.
Over the past years, the four localities have gained significant achievements in tourism cooperation. The effectiveness is yet to match the potential.
The two sides need to boost their exchange and connection to develop their own special products. Communication work should be conducted while strengthening state management on tourism, and exchanging experience.-VNA

Illustrative image (Source: VNA)HCM City (VNA) –Ho Chi Minh City drew 3.71 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) overthe past nine months, up 64.3 percent year on year, according to the municipalPeople’s Committee.
Of that amount, 925.1million USD came from 593 newly-registered projects while 690.78 million USD wasadded to 164 existing projects.
The city also approved1,616 investors to contribute capital and buy stakes with total capital ofaround 2.09 billion USD.
The manufacturing andprocessing sector continued to take the lead with 471.5 million USD, accountingfor 51 percent of total newly-approved FDI.
The wholesale andretail, and automobile and motor repair accounted for 18.7 percent, with over173 million USD, and the real estate sector, 13.4 percent, with over 123million USD, falling 22.8 percent and 61.3 percent year on year respectively.
The US is Vietnam’slargest source of FDI, injecting 249.95 million USD or 27 percent. Singapore rankedsecond with 136.64 million USD, or 14.8 percent, followed by the Republic ofKorea and Japan with 129.62 million USD and 82 million USD respectively.
The city has officiallyput into operation the online investment registration programme applied fornewly-registered projects, successfully receiving 1,242 dossiers.-VNA
